Holy Spirit Conference

The promo material for the upcoming Holy Spirit Conference, including schedule information, is in the picture above.  If you click the picture, you can view it more easily.  The speaker lineup is very exciting this year, as we have Dr. Joseph Castleberry, President of Northwest University; Dr. Byron Klaus, President of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary; and Pastor John Bueno, longtime Director of Assemblies of God World Missions.

The theme this year is  taken from Acts 5:20:  “Speak to the people all the words of this life.”  The Greek word for “speak” is “laleo,” which implies a conversational, informal way of speaking.  We will be looking at how the Holy Spirit speaks to us the words of life as it relates to world evangelization, daily conversations, and the Church. 

 The meetings will all be held at Muldoon Community Assembly.  The Holy Spirit Conference is a partnership between the Central Region, MCA, and the Alaska Ministry Network.  We hope you will join us on Sunday evening, Jan. 13, at 6:00pm.  Meetings on Monday through Wednesday will be at 9:30am, 10:45am, 6:00pm, and 7:00pm.  Children’s and Youth Services will be held in conjunction with the Holy Spirit Conference during the evening services.

World Missions Summit

In just a few days thousands of Chi Alpha students from across the U.S. will gather in Ft. Worth, Texas for the third World Missions Summit (WMS). These students will be challenged to commit a year to Missions somewhere in the world and to pray about committing a lifetime to Missionary Ministry.

Missionary Terry Hull and Missionaries Lattis and Sharlotte Campbell will be representing Alaska Missions at this gathering. Alaska has been given three fifty minute breakout sessions where students will be presented with the needs, opportunities, and challenges of Alaska Missions and will be allowed to ask questions.

An Alaska Display Booth will be operating throughout the WMS with photos and videos constantly playing. Also, a QR code card will be distributed to students which will take them directly to a new Web page designed to help those interested in Alaska with possible job openings and ministry opportunities.

Please pray for this meeting that God will touch the lives of thousands for ministry somewhere in the world, and especially for ministry here in Alaska.

Winner of Credential Renewal Drawing

This year, the Alaska Ministry Network provided an incentive to encourage everyone to renew their ministry credentials online, and early.  We had over 80 ministers who renewed their credentials online by Dec. 15, and were entered in a drawing to receive a $100 gift card.

If you didn't get your name entered for the drawing, there is always next year!  If you haven't renewed your credential yet, we encourage you to do it right away and avoid late fees.  The deadline is December 31.

Connecticut Shooting Call to Prayer

Please join with us in praying for the families affected by the school shooting in Connecticut. Our hearts are broken for them as they grieve the loss of their loved ones. The video below is a call to prayer from General Superintendent George Wood.

Credential Renewals

Alaska Ministry Network Ministers -- Don't forget to renew your credential!  We have an incentive this year:  If you renew your credential ONLINE by Dec. 15, your name goes into a hat for a drawing to win a $100 gift card.  Renew your credential today!

The credential renewal deadline is December 31.  If you are mailing them in, they must be postmarked by Dec. 31.  If you are renewing online, remember that it must be done by 11:59pm Central Time on Dec. 31.  If you are bringing it in to the office, keep in mind that our office will be closed on Dec. 31.

Alaska Youth Conference 2012

God did exciting things at the 2012 Alaska Youth Conference.  Thanks to Youth Director Mark and Heidi Zweifel and the AK Youth team for directing an excellent event.  My 1 Shirt was launched this year.  My 1 shirt helps us identify with the fact that many people around the world own only one shirt.  It is a way of giving Speed the Light funds to make a difference in those areas of the world.  You can learn more about how you can still be involved at:  http://www.alaska.my1shirt.com/

 

The after party was a big hit this year, complete with a dodgeball tournament.  Florida Youth Director Al Force was the speaker this year, and we appreciate his ministry to Alaska.

 

 

Brandon Bee was the worship leader again this year.  It was thrilling to see a generation worshipping God with all their hearts.
