HOPE Camp in Bethel

Bob and Rachelle White led the HOPE (Helping Other People Excel) Camp in the Bethel area in July.  They report that camp went great and that 32 youth attended!  Praise the Lord!  Below is a description of HOPE, and what they are about, taken from their Facebook page.  Bob is a credentialed minister with the Alaska Ministry Network. 

H.O.P.E. [Helping Other People Excel] in Alaska Ministry is a faith based nondenominational non-profit 501C3 organization committed to helping other people excel with the focus of addressing the suicide issue and pursuing a preservation of healthy Yup'ik/Cup'ik Cultural values and way of life.

Camp HOPE is a place for people (teens specifically this year) to come and have positive faith based interactions with elders to provide cultural, community, personal, relationship and spiritual skill. We anticipate that one outcome will be a decrease in suicide due to connecting people back to the core of their culture bringing pride back to their lives with a core of spiritual hope.
