Puerta del Cielo!

At Network Conference this past April, we emphasized the need for reaching the 38,000 Hispanics in the Anchorage area, along with raising funds for Alaska Missions.  Last night was a thrilling event, as we were able to present a check to Puerta del Cielo in the amount of $10,000.  The funds were given by churches and individuals in the Alaska Ministry Network.

Pastor Gil and Rosi Nantes are the Pastors of Puerta del Cielo, which has been officially approved by the General Council as a Parent Affiliated Church of Anchorage First Assembly of God.  We are thankful that Pastor Gary and Alice and the board of First Assembly are willing to help out with this church plant.  There is already a body of Hispanic believers numbering around 20 that are gathering weekly for prayer and Bible study.  They are pictured below.

Below is a video of Pastor Bill praying over the new church.  There was a strong sense of the Lord's blessing and excitement for reaching Hispanics for Jesus.  We can't wait to see what God will do!  Thanks to everyone who gave for helping make this happen.  Continue to pray for a harvest of Hispanic believers!

Pastor Randy Wren

Pastor Randy Wren, a US Missionary appointed in Kotzebue, was able to attend the Holy Spirit Conference.  Pastor Randy and Sandy are doing a great job in Kotzebue.  They are seeing the church grow and recently had a VBS with 35 kids in attendance.  Randy and Sandy are really good people and we are blessed to have them as part of the Alaska Ministry Network.  We're excited about what the Lord is doing in Kotzebue.

Holy Spirit Conference

Wow!  We had an incredible week at the Holy Spirit Conference.  Special thanks to MCA for hosting this event.  Their team served with excellence.  We had a packed house in the evenings and experienced rich teachings and the presence of God.

Dr. Castleberry brought an emphasis on the Holy Spirit's involvement in our Professional lives.  He brought excellent messages on professional ethics, networking, and our professional lives as worship.  Dr. Rozell helped us understand the Holy Spirit's assistance in our holistic health and the agape love of God.  He brought a great message on Thursday afternoon on how ministers can finish well.  Blaine even provided hamburgers and sandwiches for a snack.  Thanks Blaine!  Pastor Dobie Weasel inspired us to experience the presence of God, the signs of Pentecost, and the need to understand the power of God.

We had powerful times with God at the altars.  Thanks to everyone who attended and also to Terry Hull for streaming it live.  Pam reports that the Holy Spirit Conference for kids went very well and they had many kids baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Memorial Service for Pastor Joany

The Memorial Service for Pastor Joany Bazemo was held today at MCA.  Pastor Joany has been an instrumental leader in Burkina Faso, as MCA has planted 30 churches there since 1988.  Pastor Joany was a close friend to the Redfearns and MCA, and was a blessing to the Alaska Ministry Network.  He died in a car accident on his way to minister in Burkina Faso.  The service today was an excellent celebration of his life.
