TGM Ministering in Anchorage Area

TGM had the awesome opportunity this past week to gift over 600 Native Books of Hope at the Alaska Federation of Natives "AFN" Annual Convention, in Anchorage, AK! The NBOH has wonderful stories of healing and redemption and has within its pages the Gospels! Thats over 600 Bibles gifted to individuals at this event!

This was our second year at the convention, introducing our ministry to the 4-5,000 AFN attendees from all over Alaska! We had countless encounters to pray with individuals! People were drawn to the Books of Hope, many returning to the booth with their friends to receive more. We were met with a great openness the the Gospel and ministered freely wherever we went. Glory to God! Following AFN, we joined Pastor Jack and Ann Aiken at Kings Way Ministry Center, a growing and vibrant Assembly of God Church in Eagle River! Our team was blessed to be with them and honored to present our ministry to Kings Way. We will conclude our trip at Alaska Youth Conference, serving and ministering with the AKYM team.

Northern Region Leadership Advance

Presbyter JR Markle led the Northern Region leadership advance.  The region was very well represented, and the fellowship was rich.  Pastor JR invited Pastor Mike Rose to speak on the Pastor Board relationship.  We appreciate Pastor JR and his service to the Alaska Ministry Network and the Northern Region.

Peninsula Region Church Leader's School

The Peninsula Region Pastor and Church Leader's School was a success again this year.  Presbyter Stephen Brown does a fantastic job of making this a good time of fellowship, inspiration, and resourcing.  There were opportunities to learn about retirement planning, using social media for ministry (great job Scott and Nick!).  Pastor Mike Rima was the featured speaker and did a very good job teaching about church leadership and also leading a church board.

DSOM Summit

Today Dr. Wade Cogan and I (Brad) represented AKSOM at the annual DSOM Summit in Springfield, MO.  DSOM is the District Schools of Ministry Association, and is the organization that has received approval  from General Council to fulfill educational requirements for credentialing.  AKSOM is a member of DSOM. At the Summit, the schools get together to share best practices and ideas for improving schools of ministry.

It's exciting to hear what God is doing through District Schools of Ministry all around the nation.  There are over 4,000 students active in DSOMs right now.   Lots of great ideas shared today!  Pictured below is DSOM President Dave Dillon, who is also Superintendent for the Appalachian District.

Klawock Pastoral Installation

On Sunday, Sept. 30th, Pastor Bill installed Pastor Bob and Debbie Girt to be Pastors of Prince of Peace AG in Klawock.  We are very excited for Pastor Bob and Debbie, and also for Prince of Peace AG.  The Girts had previously ministered in Ketchikan in an associate role.  We are thankful to the Prince of Peace church board for their ministry and leadership in interim time between Pastors.

Pastor Bob and Debbie are pictured below, next to Supt. Bill Welch.

Tok Pastoral Installation

Pastor Bill recently installed Pastor Chase and Stacy Musick as Pastors of Tok Assembly of God.  It was a very good ceremony and we are excited to see what the Lord will do through Pastor Chase and Stacy.

We greatly appreciate the ministry of Pastor Jack Golie.  He and Barbara have been ministering in Tok as interim Pastors for the last year.  Pastor Jack and Barbara have been a blessing across Alaska for many years.
