New Position for Pastor Vanilau

We had a great lunch with Pastor Vanilau (pictured right) and his son, Al.  Pastor Vanilau is the President of the Alaska Assemblies of God Samoan Fellowship, but is also the President of the National AG Samoan Fellowship.  He represents the National Samoan Fellowship on the General Council General Presbytery.

Pastor Vanilau is Pastor of Anchorage Samoan AG.  He shared his heart for the Samoan people who live here in Alaska.  He wants them to know Jesus.  He also expressed appreciation for the fellowship they have with the people of the Alaska Ministry Network.  We appreciate Pastor Vanilau and his dedication and commitment to the call of God.  His ministry has produced much fruit!  Something new I learned about Pastor Vanilau is that he had an opportunity to be a professional rugby player, but chose to follow the call of God in ministry instead.

Save the Date for Network Conference!

Pastor Gary's new Appointment with CUFI

Gary Morton was recently named Christians United For Israel Region One Director.  Region One includes Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.  Morton has served as the Anchorage City Director for CUFI since 2007.  He has directed Anchorage Nights to Honor Israel and a number of informational events.
"Part of my immediate responsibility will be to mobilize men and women from Region One to attend the upcoming CUFI Washington D. C. Summit - July 16-18, 2012." Gary reported.
Christians United for Israel's Washington Summit is the premier pro-Israel event of the year. They bring together some of the most influential leaders and thinkers to update attendees on recent developments in Israel, the Middle East and Washington, D.C.
Gary said, "The highlight for me is when we go to "the Hill", and meet with Congress and personally share our support for Israel directly with our elected officials and help change the way Washington views Israel and issues directly related to the Jewish State. I personally believe that CUFI was created for "such a time as this".  Together we can take a stand for Israel that will make a great difference."
Christians United for Israel (CUFI) is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States with over 915,000 members and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. Every month CUFI holds more than 40 pro-Israel events across the country.
 The CUFI Israel Pledge:
CUFI believes that the Jewish people have a right to live in their ancient land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.
CUFI maintains that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.
CUFI pledges to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until the attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors.
Gary says, "I hope to encourage many of my friends to join me in signing CUFI's Israel Pledge and show our support for the "apple of our Lord's eye".  You can find the link and further information at www.cufi.org ."

New Pastors in Sitka!

Congratulations to Pastor Ryan and Heather Gluth!  Pastor Ryan and Heather were elected by the congregation in Sitka yesterday to be their Pastors.  Pastor Ryan and Heather ministered  previously in Sitka as youth workers and have since then been Youth Pastors in Juneau and Kenai.  They are currently assisting at Wasilla Assembly of God and Ryan recently earned a Master of Business Administration.  We are excited for them as they follow the call of God and lead this congregation.
