New Position for Pastor Jim Duncan

Pastor Jim Duncan, the Secretary for the Alaska Ministry Network, recently accepted the position of Chaplaincy Program Coordinator  with the Department of Corrections for the State of Alaska.  He
will be responsible for the planning, implementation, administration and evaluation of the Department’s chaplaincy services and faith-based programs provided in the institutions and in the community transitional residential centers.  In carrying out these duties, Rev. Duncan will supervise two state prison chaplains and oversee the work carried out by numerous volunteer clergy and lay persons.

We are excited for Pastor Jim and believe he will excel in this position, overseeing ministry to the prisoners in Alaska.  Pastor Jim and Renee have resigned as Pastors at Peninsula Christian Center and will soon be relocating to the Anchorage area.  Pastor Jim will continue to serve the Alaska Ministry Network as Secretary and Men's Director.  Renee will continue to serve the Network as Women's Director.  They are a tremendous blessing to the Alaska Ministry Network and we appreciate them very much.

Sitka Pastoral Installation

Superintendent Bill and Dori Welch were in Sitka this past weekend to install Pastor Ryan and Heather Gluth as Pastors of Sitka Assembly of God.  Pastor Ryan and Heather are not new to Sitka, as they served as an integral part of the Youth and Worship Team from 1997 to 2001.  After that, they went on to finish their degrees at Trinity Bible College and then served on staff at Evangel AG in Juneau and Kenai New Life.  Most recently, they have been attending and serving at Wasilla AG.  Ryan recently completed his Master's in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Leadership.  Pastor Ryan and Heather and their family are very excited to be in Sitka.

This installation was a meaningful time for Pastor Bill and Dori, as they served as Senior Pastors at Sitka Assembly from 1997 to 2008.  We are very excited for Pastor Ryan and Heather and Sitka Assembly of God.  This is a very loving church with great people.

Here is a quote from Pastor Ryan Gluth about the installation:

"We are so appreciative of Supt. Welch and Dori joining us on Sunday.  Heather and Dori did an incredible job leading worship together.  The presence of God was so strong throughout the entire service.  Pastor Bill brought a great message that really kicked-off our pastorate here in Sitka.  We are headed in the right direction.  It was an anointed and emotional service that unified the body of Sitka Assembly of God in expectation of what is to come.  Our greatest days are in front of us and everyone is ready to do their part.  This installation day was capped off by a great time of fellowship at our church picnic."  -- Pastor Ryan Gluth
