AKYC 2013

AKYC was an amazing event this year. We saw close to 900 students and leaders encouraged and impacted through  worship and the word. We were blessed to have Heath Adamson, our National Youth Director with us as the keynote speaker. Heath’s messages challenged both the leaders and the students. Many students were baptized in the Holy Spirit, called into full-time vocational ministry and experienced physical healing.

This event could not have happened without the support and involvement of so many volunteers. Thank you for all your help making this such a powerful event. Terry Hull of Voice to the Village invested countless hours helping us live stream AKYC to those who could not be with us physically!

Continue to pray for Kotlik

Continue to pray for the Western Region, and especially Kotlik.  Kotlik has been hit by a devastating storm that has knocked out Kotlik's water supply, sewage, and has caused so much damage. Bob White is there to help in repairing sewer and water damage that has been done. Pastor Jimmy Okitkun is working hard to minister to the village, and US Missionary Anthony Nelson is there helping him. Here is a video taken of some of the damage.

Bethel Camp Meeting

Thanks to Pastor Dale and Pattie Jollotta for hosting the Camp meeting. They worked very hard to make sure everyone had a good experience. The food was excellent!
Pastor Daniel Bracken, of King's Chapel in Wasilla, was the evening speaker. He did a fantastic job, and the Holy Spirit ministered strongly to everyone. Brad Kesler was the morning speaker.
Thanks to Presbyter Randy Wren for his leadership at the Camp meeting. Pastor Randy provided opportunities in the afternoon for ministers to fellowship and be informed.
US Missionary Terry Hull live streamed the Camp meeting and made DVD’s available to all who requested them.

General Council 2013

The Alaska Ministry Network had a display booth at General Council this year.  Our prayer is that God used this venue to call people to ministry in Alaska.  We got a lot of traffic at the booth, and several expressed interest.  They were able to sign up to receive future communications about ministry opportunities in Alaska.  Special thanks to Lattis and Sharlotte Campbell and Terry and Danean Hull, who arranged the booth and spent many hours at it.  Many other Alaskans who were at General Council assisted as well.

The services were very dynamic and life giving.  We would encourage you to take time to listen to some of the General Council services that are archived online.  You can find them here.
Several ministers from Alaska made the trip to General Council.  The next General Council will be in Orlando again, in 2015.  We encourage you to make the trip, if you are able.  It will be a blessing in your life and ministry.

Pastor Jared and Vicki Myrick are the new Pastors of  Living Waters AG in Delta Junction!  We welcome them to Alaska, and are very excited that they are here.  You will enjoy getting to know them.  Northern Region Presbyter JR Markle will be installing the Myricks this Sunday, Sept. 8th.

Director's Forum

Superintendent Bill Welch hosted the annual Alaska Ministry Network Director's Forum last month.  It was a time of information, collaboration, fellowship, and inspiration. We are blessed in Alaska with top notch ministry directors, and we appreciate their hard work.  The future is very bright!

Assistant Superintendent Gary Morton gave an excellent devotion to prepare us to take Communion together.

We skyped in Dr. Joe Castleberry, President of Northwest University.  He recently authored a book titled "The Kingdom Net", and shared some of the networking principles from the book. with us.  It was an insightful time, and we would highly recommend this book to you.

General Council Services Online

General Council opened this year again with the Influence Conference.  There were five speakers who did an excellent job, and it was a very powerful time.  Tonight at 7PM EST, there will be a General Council service, featuring General Superintendent George Wood as the speaker.  This will be live streamed, and we encourage you to participate.  You can watch live, as well as view archived sessions at www.generalcouncil.ag.org.  It would be well worth your time to watch the archived sessions of the Influence Conference.

AMN Booth at General Council

The Alaska Ministry Network booth at General Council is up and active! Lattis and Sharlotte Campbell and Terry and Danean Hull are coordinating the booth, and others are taking turns at the booth. This picture is of Austin and Jennifer Jones manning it. Pray that many will be called to ministry in Alaska through this opportunity.

Joy Christian Center Celebration

In May, Pastor Marlan and Ruth Schoenleben led Joy Christian Center in upgrading from Developing Assembly status to General Council status.  This is something to celebrate!  They planted this church over 10 years ago, and it has grown to sovereign status.  The church unanimously elected Pastor Marlan as the Pastor, and also unanimously ratified their Board and Constitution and Bylaws.  Congratulations to this church as they continue to reach their community for Christ.  Central Region Presbyter Fay Niemann led the business meeting, and Superintendent Bill Welch was in attendance with his wife, Dori.

Kotlik Building Supplies Arrived!

After a delay due to the river, the building supplies have now arrived by barge in Kotlik.  Odis has teams lined up to build the building.  Be praying for them as they build.  It is so exciting to see this vision that has been held for so many throughout the years come to pass.  Thanks to everyone who has given to this project.

Impact Camp at Barrow

God is doing great things at Impact Camp in Barrow!  There are around 220 students and leaders gathered at the top of the world to impact Barrow with the Gospel.  Youth Director Mark and Heidi Zweifel are leading a missions team, hosted by Pastor JR Markle and Inupiat AG in Barrow.  Be praying for them as they minister in the community.
