Director's Forum
The annual AMN Director's Forum was held this last Tuesday. It was a great time of prayer, reporting on the exciting things God has done this last year, collaboration, and vision casting for the future. The Alaska Ministry Network is blessed with a team of spiritual leaders full of vision, love for people, and passion for their ministry. The future is bright!

New Samoan Church Plant in Anchorage
A new Samoan AG church has been planted in Anchorage! The name of the church is "Wings of Love Ministry Assembly of God." Pastor So'o Malamalama and his wife are transfering their credentials to Alaska from Hawaii and already have a congregation of about 65 people. They are wonderful people of great faith, and have reported many salvations already. The church is meeting in the Fairview Recreation Center. This past Sunday evening, the Samoan Fellowship held a blessing service for the new church. It was a powerful service, and Anchorage Samoan AG was packed out for the occasion.
Pastor Vanilau, President of the Samoan Fellowship, led the service.
Assistant Superintendent Gary Morton preached an excellent message on "The faith of the leap."

General Presbytery
General Presbytery meetings just concluded today, here in Louisville, Kentucky. This was my (Brad) first experience at GP, so I thought I would give you a few of my impressions and thoughts. First, I was very encouraged by the spiritual hunger that is apparent in our leaders. We had a time of seeking God and prayer. The Holy Spirit moved, we had tongues & interpretation and prophetic words. More than one GP was literally weeping, asking God for another move of the Spirit. 2 Chronicles 7:14 was a theme. I suspect we will be hearing more about that soon.
Secondly, one of Dr. Wood's core values is to skillfully resource the fellowship. I am very excited to see that they are serious about this. The National Leadership & Resource Center (AG Headquarters) is working very hard on resource development that will benefit the local church. Examples include digital media, better curriculum, coaching ministries, healthy church development, church planting, and trips to the Holy Land. In future blog posts, I will highlight some of these initiatives.
Finally, I was impressed again with our leadership. I appreciate the vision of Dr. Wood and the Executive Leadership Team. They love God and they love the church. I also appreciate our Alaska Ministry Network Executive Presbytery. One of the things we elect them to do is represent us at the national level. Having been here, and seeing them interact with the other General Presbyters, I can tell you that they represent us very well. Pastor Fay and I appreciated the opportunity to serve with them this year at General Presbytery, as the ordained female and ordained minister under 40. Thanks for giving us this opportunity. Here are a few pictures.

HOPE Camp in Bethel
H.O.P.E. [Helping Other People Excel] in Alaska Ministry is a faith based nondenominational non-profit 501C3 organization committed to helping other people excel with the focus of addressing the suicide issue and pursuing a preservation of healthy Yup'ik/Cup'ik Cultural values and way of life.
Camp HOPE is a place for people (teens specifically this year) to come and have positive faith based interactions with elders to provide cultural, community, personal, relationship and spiritual skill. We anticipate that one outcome will be a decrease in suicide due to connecting people back to the core of their culture bringing pride back to their lives with a core of spiritual hope.
God is Moving in Kotzebue!
Exciting things are happening in Kotzebue! A team from North Dakota was recently in Kotzebue working together with U.S. Missionaries Randy and Sandy Wren. Pastor Randy reported that 120 attended kid's ministries and 87 for the youth. Praise God! Here is a quote from Pastor Randy: "Oh thank God, He is Faithful to the faithful and this people have been praying for revival and were seeing the first signs of birth pains. Get ready Alaska! The Fire of God is coming your way, make your feet ready and straight, don't let the move past you by. Catch the ride, it's the only one to be on." Continue to pray for the harvest in Kotzebue.
Healy Pastoral Installation
On July 29, Pastor Bill and Dori installed Pastor Robert and Alesha Ferguson as Pastors at Valley Chapel in Healy. It was a great service! They were given an engraved shepherd's staff, pictured below. Welcome to the Alaska Ministry Network. We are so glad you have followed the call of God to Alaska. The church Facebook page can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/ValleyChapelAssemblyOfGod. If you "like" their page, you can follow the church.
Missions Team to Dillingham
Pastor Debbie and Dave Milligan, Pastor in Dillingham, recently hosted a missions team from Rancho Cordova in California. U.S. Missionary Wade Cogan accompanied them to assist with hosting the group. They were a great blessing to the church, and assisted with both construction and outreach ministry. Their work included: construction of a roof for the guest house, replace the dryer belt, build a deck, re-plumb the church, along with conducting kid's rallies, night services, and Sunday services. Thanks team, for being a blessing! Here are some pictures.
