Alaska Youth Conference 2012

God did exciting things at the 2012 Alaska Youth Conference.  Thanks to Youth Director Mark and Heidi Zweifel and the AK Youth team for directing an excellent event.  My 1 Shirt was launched this year.  My 1 shirt helps us identify with the fact that many people around the world own only one shirt.  It is a way of giving Speed the Light funds to make a difference in those areas of the world.  You can learn more about how you can still be involved at:  http://www.alaska.my1shirt.com/

The after party was a big hit this year, complete with a dodgeball tournament.  Florida Youth Director Al Force was the speaker this year, and we appreciate his ministry to Alaska.

Brandon Bee was the worship leader again this year.  It was thrilling to see a generation worshipping God with all their hearts.

Juneau Christian Center Book Launch

Juneau Christian Center just launched their new book, "Undeniable," on November 4.  This book was published by Good Catch Publishing and Daren Lindley.  "Undeniable" features real life testimonies of God's power and grace working in the lives of people attending Juneau Christian Center.  This will be a powerful testimony to the community of Juneau.

Alaska Dream Center Event

The Dream Center will be holding a special banquet on December 1 to help raise funds for the Alaska Dream Center.  Here is a quote from Director Rob Hyslip:  "We are excited to invite you to our 2012 Dream Gala. It will be held at the beautiful Bill Sheffield train depot at the airport in Anchorage, on Saturday December 1st. It will be a night of celebration to kick off the Christmas holidays with a sumptuous dinner served by our AKDC disciples, games, entertainment and a silent auction to buy awesome Christmas gifts for your loved ones. Make it a date night and support the Alaska Dream Center as we continue the good fight against addictions in Alaska."

SE Minister's Conference

Pastor Mike (pictured below) and Deenie Rose, with Juneau Christian Center, hosted the SE Minister's Conference again this year.  It was a fantastic event, and we appreciate their leadership and planning.  It was a good time of fellowship and inspiration.

Northwest University President Joe Castleberry was the featured speaker.  President Castleberry recently authored a phenomenal book, "Your Deepest Dream", which can be purchased on Amazon.  We thoroughly enjoyed his teaching.

Western Region Campmeeting

Pastor Dale (pictured below) and Pattie Jollotta did a great job of hosting the Campmeeting.  They are the Pastors of Bethel Community Assembly of God.  We appreciate all their hard work in making this a good event.

Heidi Zweifel did a great job leading worship at Campmeeting.  Heidi and Pastor Randy Wren, of Kotzebue, did children's and youth ministry training during the day.

Convoy of Hope

Many of you have already given to disaster relief for Hurricane Sandy through Convoy of Hope or other organizations.  If you would like to contribute, Alaska Ministry Network Men's Director Jim Duncan would like you to know that you can give through Light for the Lost.  100% of the donations that come in through Light for the Lost that are designated for Convoy of Hope - Hurricane Sandy, will go to Convoy of Hope.  No management fees are taken out by LFTL.  You can give through the Alaska Ministry Network and designate your check LFTL-Hurricane Sandy.  To learn more about Convoy of Hope and see a disaster response video on Hurricane Sandy, you can visit this website:  http://www.convoyofhope.org/.

Master's Commission Graduation

This past Sunday, Wasilla Master's Commission held their graduation ceremony.  It was a very well done production.   It was so good to hear stories of God's grace in the lives of the students.  The picture below was taken from the opening act.

Because many of the students are from various native groups around Alaska, they did a worship song from each cultural group.

They honored Pastor Ed and Robin Kalnins and Pastor Josh and Gina Reese for their leadership in Master's Commission.

Alaska Home Missions Director Lattis Campbell gave a fantastic word about what it means to be a minister.

Network Prayer Service

This last Thursday, the Network Wide Prayer Service was held at King's Way Ministry Center in Eagle River.  Many different people led in prayer for various items.  Some of them are pictured below.  It was an incredible time of prayer, worship, communion, and unity.  Many people attended the event live, and Terry Hull reports that there were at least 128 different computers logged in online.  Some of those logins were entire congregations participating together.

Paul Wainamo and the team from King's Way led us in worship throughout the service.

Deborah Goodwater led in prayer for believers.   Pastor Dana and Deborah Goodwater are Pastors in Seward.

Pastor Eldon Hicks led in prayer for revival.  Pastor Eldon and Gloria Hicks are Pastors of Anchorage Native AG.

Central Region Presbyter Fay Niemann led in prayer for Godly wisdom and courage.

Peninsula Region Presbyter Stephen Brown led in prayer for families to be restored.  This picture was taken by Western Region Presbyter Austin Jones.  He was watching online from the east coast.  Many other people led in powerful times of prayer for other topics.

Superintendent Bill Welch and Pastor Jack Aiken led us in Holy Communion.  We enjoyed a time together in the sweet presence of the Lord.

Presbytery

Presbytery meetings were held this past Tuesday and Wednesday.  We are blessed with competent leaders who love God, the Network, and what God is doing in Alaska!

The ministry directors gave reports on their respective ministries to Presbytery.  It is a blessing to hear all the great things that God is doing around the Alaska Ministry Network.  We love our ministry directors and appreciate their leadership and excellent administration of events that give life.  Two of  the meetings were via Skype: Pastor Pam and Pastor Renee.

Children's Ministries OneDay Training Event

Pastor Pam Hodges and AMN Children's Ministries recently held a OneDay Training Event for everyone involved in Children's Ministries.  National Children's Ministries Director Scott Berkey, and his wife Sarah, were the featured speakers.  The event was held at Anchorage Native AG, and there was a good turnout.  Missionary Terry Hull and Voice to the Village also live streamed the event, and Terry reports that 108 people logged on for the training.  For those that missed it, the video will soon be available.  Thanks to Pastor Pam for providing this training event and to the Berkeys for investing in Alaska.
